Virtual Pupillage Open Evening 2026
We are pleased to invite you to our upcoming Virtual Pupillage Open Evening 2026.
The evening will provide the opportunity for prospective pupils to learn more about what life is like at the Bar and to get to know some of our current members.
Date: Tuesday 13 January 2026
Time: 5pm
Venue: Online
The evening will include a series of talks from members of 42BR:
Pupillage Overview
Our Head of Pupillage, Safia Tharoo, will deliver an overview of the pupillage application and selection process, including the qualities and experience we look for in candidates, as well as guidance on how applicants may best prepare.
Life as a Silk and specialising
We are also pleased to be joined by Damian Woodward-Carlton KC and Iris Ferber KC. They will offer their perspectives on practice at silk level, outlining their journeys to taking silk and providing an account of a typical day in their practices: Iris from a civil law perspective, and Damian from a family law perspective.
Journey into tenancy and building a career as a junior tenant
Jennifer Youngs and Jamie Fireman, who both completed their pupillage at 42BR and have since developed well-established practices, will discuss their routes through pupillage to tenancy and share reflections on building a career at the Bar.
Q&A Session
The session will conclude with a dedicated Q&A session, providing attendees with the opportunity to put questions directly to our panel of members.
The event aims to provide a comprehensive and realistic picture of pupillage and early practice within a multi-disciplinary set of Chambers, do join us if you can!
If you have any questions you would like the panel to consider before the session, please do not hesitate to contact us.
